The Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL), through its Faculty of Arts, Design, and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM), has formalized a cooperation agreement with the Autonomous Decentralized Municipal Government (GAD) of Samborondón. This collaboration aims to establish joint action ties between both institutions for the benefit of the community's development and well-being.
Present at the signing meeting were ESPOL's Rector, Cecilia Paredes, Ph.D.; the Mayor of Samborondón, Ing. Juan José Yúnez; the Dean of FADCOM, Nayeth Solórzano, Ph.D.; and the Associate Dean of FADCOM, Carlos González Lema, M.Sc.
The agreement signing, held on August 1, 2023, marks a commitment to carry out specific programs, projects, and activities that promote cooperation and address shared interests. ESPOL's Rector, Cecilia Paredes, and Samborondón's Mayor, Juan José Yúnez, led the signing ceremony. Both leaders highlighted the alignment of values and the pursuit of community engagement programs as common goals between the two institutions.
The Rector expressed, "With this signature, we mark the beginning of community engagement programs, and I hope this continues to grow. There is a great deal of expertise we can share with the canton, in service of the people of Samborondón." This collaboration is envisioned as the start of a continuous and fruitful relationship, aiming to build bridges for development, inclusion, and progress in every undertaken project.
Mayor Yúnez emphasized that academia is a valuable ally in solving social problems, and this is a promising step in the collaboration that will only expand over time.
The agreement promotes an enriching alliance between ESPOL and the Municipality of Samborondón, with the primary goal of contributing to the community's growth through concrete projects and solutions that address local needs.
