Andrea Constante and Paola Suárez, students of the Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design, and Jorge Campozano and Yaeli Mieles, also graduates of the Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design and Advertising, are among the finalists of the Latin American Design Awards - LAD. Constante and Mieles participate in the Social Design category, with their project: GLOU, My space to shine.
The project is based on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in infants, a syndrome that affects certain sensory and motor activities from an early age. After conducting research with the target audience, they came to the conclusion that there is a deficit in the visual communication of children with autism in the classroom, due to the lack of specialized material. The graduates worked with the Centro Psicoeducativo Integral Isaac, one of the first organizations in the city of Guayaquil to deal with autism.
Campozano and Mieles are participating in the Illustration category with their project: The calendar that knows Ecuador. Considering Ecuador a country rich in natural and cultural diversity, they designed an editorial product that presents in 12 months emblematic places of Ecuador. In this way they managed to rescue in the process: shapes, textures and colors of different biodiverse tourist corners and attractions that have a high architectural, patrimonial and cultural content.
