The School of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) of ESPOL presented the talk “Creation of collective imaginaries through social networks, gender and politics: the case of Ecuador”, given by Kennia Rosales, an alumni of the faculty. The talk addressed the role of social networks in the construction of collective imaginaries related to gender and politics, specifically in the Ecuadorian context.
During the session, Rosales shared the findings of her research on the behavior of young people in social networks and their interaction on political issues. Through a detailed analysis, he explained how digital communities are formed around specific candidates, generating stereotypes and trends that influence electoral dynamics.
This talk is relevant to understand the influence of social networks on the political perception of young people in Ecuador and how these platforms can shape public discourse. Rosales' research, focused on the use of social networks to express and build political opinions, provides valuable insights into the impact of digital imaginaries in the formation of stereotypes and the development of collective identities, providing students with an integral training in analysis and critical communication.
