Students Carlos Anchundia, Sharon Valle, Kevin Guadamud, and Melany Sánchez, from the Product Design program, are the developers of Ask To Tierrita, an application that guides users in making sustainable purchasing decisions by providing knowledge about the environmental impact of product packaging.
Ask To Tierrita is a reader designed to be placed inside kiosks at supermarkets, providing information about the material composition of product packaging and its impact on the planet. The app applies universal design principles, ensuring it is accessible to people of all ages.
This proposal is part of the entries selected for the Student Design Competition at the Human-Computer Interaction (CHI) 2022 Conference in the United States. This event, organized for students, offers a space to showcase their skills in interaction design and user experience.
