On February 16, the event "The Final Pitch" was held, where the best integrative projects of the students of the Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral (ESPOL) were presented. In this edition, the School of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) presented innovative projects in the areas of Product Design, Graphic Design and Media Production.
The event was attended by Dean Nayeth Solórzano, Ph.D., and Assistant Dean Carlos González, M.Sc., Diana Vega, expert in Media and Communication; Eddie González, renowned Audiovisual Producer; Roberto Balda, outstanding Industrial Designer; and Master Gary Garzón, Specialist in Design and Educational Management, contributed their criteria in the evaluation of the projects presented.
The participating teams presented innovative and creative projects. The team integrated by Liliana Estrada and María Cristina Enríquez presented a project on Protective Clothing Design using additive manufacturing techniques. Kathya Rodríguez and Nicole Ponce presented "Dori", an interactive toy for sensory and educational stimulation in kindergartens. Ashley Daza presented together with Bélgica Olmedo the project "Todo o Nada", a Transmedia Graphic Campaign to rethink the perspective of love in the new generation of Guayaquil. Aimed Tumbaco and Joseline Bayas presented the documentary proposal "Engaños Digitales, DeepFake", an audiovisual that performs a social experiment in the city of Guayaquil about the use of DeepFake. And finally, Ariana Solórzano and Johanna Ortíz presented the documentary proposal "Un Elefante de Papel", an experimental short film about personal perceptions of congratulations.
After the presentations, the teams interacted with the public at the IDEAR Fair, where companies and professionals were able to learn more about the projects and their creators. Finally, with the presence of the Rector of ESPOL, Cecilia Paredes, Ph.D., and the Vice Rectors, Carlos Monsalve, Ph.D., and Paola Romero, Ph.D., it was announced that the team "MotoSHield", integrated by Liliana Estrada and María Cristina Enríquez, was the winner of the #5MinPitch, taking the prize for the most innovative project. The winners were awarded a module of the FADCOM Masters, which was received with enthusiasm and applause from all those present.
FADCOM's #TheFinalPitch was an event that highlighted the creativity, talent and effort of the students, as well as the faculty's commitment to the integral formation of its students.
