The La Linares Short Novel Award, which is held annually, awarded the first prize to the writer César Hermida for his novel Amoríos. They also awarded a mention with equal equivalence to the novel El buen ladrón, by PhD. Marcelo Báez, current Dean of the Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication, FADCOM, of ESPOL, renowned writer and winner of several awards in the literary world. Also, the author Marco Cabrera received a mention for his novel Alcatraz.
The award in its fourth call had as jury the writers Antonio Sacoto, Adolfo Macías and Iván Égüez, to select among the works submitted for the contest, last April 21, its 2019 winner. The award ceremony took place on April 23, Book Day, at the Égüez House.
