The project "Leyendas de Barro" has been selected to compete in the Lux Awards 23, an annual competition that celebrates the most outstanding exponents of the creative industry in Ecuador. The sculpture, developed by students from FADCOM's Bachelor's in Product Design program, evokes geodesic forms that symbolize the connection between the past and the present.
Diego Tapia, a FADCOM student, led the design of this piece, which features an ascending spiral cover representing the flow of inspiration and the creative process, while the sculpted hands at the concrete base personify the dedication of potters and the legacy passed down through generations.
The monument, developed in collaboration with Lapar Studio and the Municipality of Samborondón, is inspired by a traditional clay vessel that represents the fusion of tradition and modernity. This achievement highlights ESPOL's commitment to educational excellence and support for the creative talent of its students.
