The research and development team of the Loly-MIDI project continues with new evaluation trials on the use of their playful applications with robotic accompaniment for neurotypical and special needs children, this time with the support of Unidad Educativa Particular Santa Ana (UEPSA). Teachers and parents joined the students at the Innovation and Development of Computational Systems Center (CIDIS) at ESPOL.
The trials were attended by the project director and FADCOM Dean, Ph.D. Nayeth Solórzano, co-director Ph.D. Dennys Paillacho, and part of the team of technical researchers, who, along with a group of FADCOM and CIDIS students collaborating on this project, gathered information on the children's experience using the MIDI-AM platforms and their interaction with the Loly robot. The goal is to enhance the development of social and cognitive skills in both regular children and those with certain disabilities, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
