The graduate in media production is a qualified expert who can lead multidisciplinary teams to create content with audiovisual and argumentative content according to the needs of society. This program emphasizes innovation, creativity, and research with the use of technology; it allows students to develop theoretical and practical knowledge for the mastery of the different languages used in audiovisual media, such as television, film, radio, video, and multimedia platforms, from the origin and evolution of each one to the understanding of the processes for the creation, production and dissemination of audiovisual products in their different stages, combining image, sound and aesthetics according to the criteria of technical and artistic quality.

This basic course presents the relationship between art and technology; on how the technologies of the different eras allowed the birth of new artistic expressions. It ranges from the historical antecedents of classical art, its evolution and direct link with design, technology and digital, to the conception of art in motion and audiovisuals. Finally, it is recognized and experimented with various creative processes linked to the aesthetic generation. This course aims to promote the student in a participatory and constructive criticism, which encourages the formation of principles in relation to artistic trends and the creation of creative proposals.

It is a first year course in the curriculum and it is conceived as an introduction to mathematics, providing notions of elementary algebra, geometry and trigonometry in the study of the design, production and appreciation of artistic pieces. Media producers generate all types of audiovisual material for digital platforms, communication and multimedia, art and culture, animation, television commercials, radio and digital media.  In addition, they can also develop artistic-cultural projects, as well as be a member of a multidisciplinary team in television channels, advertising agencies, educational content production companies, press agencies, or independently, participating in national and international festivals that reward creativity in the audiovisual field. 

Future professionals in Media Production, based on relevance, graduate follow-up, employability studies and new trends in the discipline, will be able to work in the following professional fields and their respective roles: 

  • Television, radio, and multimedia production companies: director, cinematographer, executive producer, editor, post-producer and content creator, colorist.

  • Television channels: assistant director, editor, producer, director.

  • Advertising agencies: producer, 2D and 3D animator, director.

  • Communication and audiovisual departments: creative writer, producer, audiovisual communicator.
