The GLOU project "My Space to Shine," developed by Andrea Constante and Paola Suárez, alumni of the Graphic Design program, received the LAD Estudiante award in the Social Project category at the 2017 Latin American Design Awards. The LAD Awards are part of Latin American Design, which recognizes the best design works submitted during the year. These awards are aimed at creatives from agencies, design studios, and independent professionals.

The GLOU "My Space to Shine" project was developed as part of the integrative course LIGRA, under the guidance of Professor María de Lourdes Pilay. The graduation project focuses on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children, a condition that affects certain sensory and motor activities from an early age.

Through research conducted with the target audience, the team concluded that there is a deficit in visual communication for children with autism in the classroom due to a lack of specialized materials. The students collaborated with the Centro Psicoeducativo Integral Isaac, one of the first organizations in Guayaquil to address autism.
