EDCOM Faculty Member Presents Doctoral Dissertation at the University of Havana

The public defense of the doctoral thesis by Professor Paola Ulloa, PhD candidate, took place on June 29th at the Faculty of Communication at the University of Havana in Cuba. The presentation of her research work received approval from all the members of the tribunal and the opponents.

Professor Ulloa presented her doctoral thesis on "Theoretical-Methodological Proposal for the Analysis of Hypermediations of University Students from Guayaquil on Facebook," a topic that took her 4 years to research. The work included a survey of 595 students from 4 universities in Guayaquil, a 4-month virtual cultural ethnography of 8 university students from Guayaquil, a literature review, two focus groups, expert interviews, and validation by 9 Ph.D. experts in new media.

Paola Ulloa is a professor at EDCOM and currently teaches the courses in Media Psychology, Multimedia Writing, and New Media.
