Ionis FX, special effects club of the School of Design and Visual Communication (Edcom), participated in the production of one of the winning audiovisuals of the contest Los Cortos de Urdesa (CDU).
Under the tutelage of professor Iria Cabrera, the polytechnic students created the hairstyle and aging makeup for one of the characters in the short film directed by the Guayaquil photographer and musician David López.
Nicolt Martillo, Mónica Mariscal and Gabriela Rivera were in charge of makeup for actress Montserrat Serrá. “What they asked us to do was to create the look of an old woman with a tender face but one that reflects illness and signs of marijuana use,” explains Martillo.
The three winning short films of this festival will be presented next November 14 at the Urdesino restaurant Trattoria Piccolo Mondo.
