During a meeting with Ing. Juan José Yúnez, Mayor of Samborondón, FADCOM Dean Nayeth Solórzano presented the "SamboMIDI" project. This initiative focuses on the implementation and development of existing MIDIam mobile applications, tailored to address the specific needs of the Samborondón canton.
The project involves the creation of new serious games (games designed with an educational purpose), building upon already defined graphic lines and the curriculum material from the Ministry of Education of Ecuador. The goal is to support active teaching and learning processes for young children in their early years of basic education. The results of these tools will be tested in municipal schools in Samborondón, including teacher training sessions.
The proposal centers on enhancing the development of educational games for children as supportive tools for early childhood education, thereby promoting a more dynamic and enriching educational experience for young learners.
This agreement marks a significant advancement in the collaborative efforts between ESPOL and the Samborondón canton, creating a conducive environment for the development of projects that positively impact society and the academic formation of students. Both institutions join forces in pursuit of a promising and enriching future for local communities, emphasizing education and innovation as fundamental pillars of sustainable development.
The Mayor joined ESPOL authorities on a tour of FADCOM’s facilities, where he had the opportunity to explore the audiovisual production room and the ADC spaces, which showcase the artistic exhibitions created by students. This visit gave the Mayor a firsthand view of the faculty's capabilities and resources, further strengthening the collaboration between the educational institution and the Municipality of Samborondón for community development and the promotion of student talent.
