The Faculty of Art, Design and Audiovisual Communication (FADCOM) of ESPOL contributes to the positioning of the institution within the QS University Rankings by Subject 2025 in the Arts & Design discipline. This recognition highlights the academic excellence and relevance of the programs offered by the faculty, consolidating ESPOL as the only Ecuadorian university ranked in this category.
The QS University Rankings by Subject evaluates the performance of the best universities in the world in five major areas of knowledge. For the 2025 edition, more than 5,200 institutions have been analyzed, of which 1,747 were ranked in at least one discipline. In the case of Arts & Design, 2,760 universities were considered, but only 260 obtained a place in the ranking.
The ranking is based on two key indicators:
Academic Reputation (90%):
Reflects the perception of academics about the most outstanding universities in research within the discipline.
Reputation among Employers (10%):
Measures the opinion of employers worldwide about the institutions that train the best professionals in the field. These indicators are constructed from surveys of more than 240,000 employers and academics and are presented on a scale of 0 to 100 points. In the last edition, ESPOL obtained a total score of 51.3, with a rating of 49.6 points in Academic Reputation and 66.7 in Reputation among Employers. This result places it within the #201-260 range worldwide and as the best Ecuadorian university in this discipline.
