The work of writer Marcelo Baez stands out at the Guayaquil Book Fair

EDCOM professor, Marcelo Baez, won the prestigious Miguel Donoso Pareja Award, conferred by the Guayaquil International Book Fair. His work, Nunca más Amarilis, will be published by the Directorate of Culture and Civic Promotion of the Municipality of Guayaquil. Additionally, within the framework of the Book Fair, Professor Baez presented his new work Lengua, me has vencido, an anthology of contemporary Ecuadorian poetry.

Professor Marcelo Baez was the translator and anthologist, while the illustrations and cover of the book were designed by Daniel Castelo, also a professor at EDCOM. The book is an anthology of 13 Ecuadorian poets translated into English.

The book has 131 pages and will be presented soon at Espol. The selection includes fundamental poets of Ecuadorian literature such as César Dávila Andrade, Efraín Jara Idrovo, Jorge Enrique Adoum, Ileana Espinel, Catalina Sojos, María Paulina Briones Layana, Mónica Ojeda, Maritza Cino Alvear, Ernesto Carrión, among others.
