Polytechnic students Georgina Manzano and Alejandro Oviedo, both from the Media Production career, presented the results of their research at the REDU 2019 Congress. The congress was held at Yachay Tech, in the Urcuquí canton, province of Imbabura.
The students each presented their papers, both directed by Professor Paola Ulloa López. Oviedo's research was a semiotic analysis of the informative discourse of the new digital media in Ecuador. The study was presented as a short paper on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, the research in which the student Georgina Manzano participated was a study in which it was determined whether there really is an interaction of the inhabitants of the city of Quevedo with new technologies in their daily lives. This conference was presented mainly by the teacher who led the research because the organizers of REDU 2019 required it to be presented as a keynote speech, due to the innovative nature of the proposed topic.
The work of professors Jorge Polo and Miguel Alfonso was also presented at the congress, as part of the short lectures at the Yachay campus.
The Congress began on Monday and on its first day, professors Karen Marquez, Elizabeth Elizalde and Lissette Gonzalez presented their posters where they disclosed the progress of the projects of Linking with Society that they have developed, each one of them in ESPOL.
